The Client: Mitre Linen
The brief
Our client required a bespoke Business Management System covering the entire business. The system needed to meet both stringent ISO standards and manage complex internal processes. The client wanted the prestige of ISO certifications and a system that also provided tangible business benefits. In addition, our client required help to meet the rigorous sustainability requirements required by the Royal Warrant Household Association.
Cala Sustain’s role
Cala Sustain worked with our client to:
- fully understand their business,
- define the solution,
- design and develop the system,
- embed the system into the organisation,
- develop and submit the extensive Royal Warrant submission and
- facilitate successful ISO certification audits.
System Design and Development
We developed an integrated business management system. The bespoke system was designed to meet the requirements of ISOs 14001, 50001, 9001 and 45001 (environment, energy, quality and health and safety). The system ensures consistency in all business functions. It covers a range of valuable activities such as sustainable procurement, customer satisfaction and legal compliance.
Royal Warrant
Cala Sustain reviewed our client’s sustainability performance across a range of business areas. A complex range of responsible business topics are reviewed when applying for a new or renewing an existing Royal Warrant. These include ethical, environmental and social considerations during sourcing, manufacturing, assembly, distribution and use of products.
Embedding Systems and Processes into the Organisation
We worked across all business functions to embed the system. Transferring ownership to the business and its functions in an effective way was crucial to the success of the system. This allowed ongoing self-management by the client.
The project outcome
By implementing a new system, our client successfully achieved ISO Certification to all standards. Our client was also successfully awarded the prestigious Royal Warrant. Achieving both has helped our client to grow their business.
